Jenna and Greg, now officially Mr ad Mrs Dann have always been drawn to moody forests, and the quiet magic of nature. So, when it came time to plan their wedding, a Bunya Mountains elopement just made sense. After a week of rain, the skies finally cleared, leaving behind fresh mountain air, beautiful light, and the perfect setting for their intimate celebration.
Eloping gave Jenna and Greg the freedom to create a day that felt like them. No big production, no pressure, just the people who mean the most to them, in a place they love.
Their best friend stood by their side (which was only fitting, since she was the reason they met in the first place), along with their immediate family. It was small, heartfelt, and filled with quiet moments that felt just right.
And in true “do it your way” fashion, Jenna ditched the traditional white dress and wore a black gown – a choice that suited her perfectly against the deep greens and earthy tones of the forest. Her bouquet? A DIY masterpiece. The arbour? Also handcrafted. Every detail felt intentional, personal, and effortlessly them.
After the ceremony, we set off to explore the small town of Bunya, taking in the serenity of the ancient forests and bunya pines.
Greg, a self-confessed car enthusiast, brought along one of his most cherished vehicles, making the drive feel extra special. There’s something about winding through misty mountain roads, fresh from the rain, that makes everything feel a little more magical.
At one point, they pulled out a set of heart shaped wine glasses which they had found at Myer, filling them up to celebrate in style. This sparked the now-iconic quote of the day from Jenna “Greg is a hoe for Myers.”
Jenna and Greg’s Bunya Mountains elopement wasn’t about traditions or expectations. It was about them – about their love for forests, quiet adventures, and finding beauty in the unexpected. They kept things simple, meaningful, and entirely their own.
The day was a reminder that weddings don’t have to follow the rules. They can be wild, wonderful, and a little unconventional, just like the best love stories always are.
